We love this quote from our next guest: “Wear your life brilliantly.”
Pamela Ptak is a couture fashion designer, co-founder of the “Arts and Fashion Institute” in Riegelsville PA and a designer on Lifetime TV’s Project Runway season 7. During Pamela’s casting, Tim Gunn called her work “… among the most beautifully constructed clothes I’ve ever seen” and said “I think you are on the cusp of something big.”
From 2003-2006 Pamela worked for Chado Ralph Rucci on 11 of his Paris Haute Couture and his NY Ready-To-Wear collections. She’s shown her Ptak Couture collections in NYC and Philly Fashion Week and was featured in numerous fashion and sewing magazines including Stitches Couture Fashion Issues. She currently creates custom couture dresses for private clients.
Pamela does couture draping and pattern making for emerging designers, produces entire sample lines for their runway shows and coaches NYC designers and their factories in couture workmanship. For fun, she designs elegant and elaborate cosplay costumes, teaches college level classes in costume design, and encourages students in finding creative solutions to the cosplay design challenges they encounter.
At the Arts and Fashion Institute, Pamela shares boundless energy and enthusiasm helping students and designers develop their fashion talent and find their artistic voice. Her past students are now at the top 3 fashion schools in the US and working for noted designers in NYC and LA and even NASA. Two of Pamela’s former students won the prestigious international “Arts of Fashion” competition in Paris, France.
Pam will be on the convention floor with her husband, Spider-Man artist Scott Hanna throughout the convention! Stop by and say hi to talk “high” fashion.
