South DakoTa Film Festival
Backlot 605 presents the first ever SiouxperCon Film Festival. In keeping with the theme of Heroes Homecoming, the festival is composed of film’s either shot entirely in South Dakota or made by filmmakers from South Dakota. This year’s festival includes short and feature films, live podcasts, filmmaker panels, and an After Dark B-Movie Bash! Events run all day Saturday and Sunday!
Saturday Film Festival Schedule
11:00 am – 1:00 pm | Feature Documentary w/ Q&A (Host Casey Kelderman)
I Really Get Into It (1:19:07) – directed by Brian Bieber
A feature length documentary about the underage architects of Sioux Falls punk. Following the film will be a post-screening Q&A with director Brian Bieber and Back Lot 605 co-host Casey Kelderman.
2:00 – 3:30 pm | LIVE Fat Dude Digs Flicks Taco ‘Bout – Andy Heller
“Let’s Taco ‘Bout” is a local podcast hosted by Andy Heller of Fat Dude Digs Flicks celebrating our collective love of movies. Each episode, Andy is joined by a guest where they discuss that guest’s life and a movie that had some kind of an impact on it.
4:00 – 6:00 pm | Local Feature Film w/ Q&A (Host Andy Heller)
6:00 – 8:00 pm | Secret Feature Film w/ Q&A (Host Casey Kelderman and Sam Lenz)
Don’t tell anyone but we have a super secret film we are screening at this year’s SiouxperCon. We will announce the title for the film the week of the event!
9:00 – 11:00 pm | After Dark B-Movie Bash
Manos The Hands of Fate (Bingo and Prizes)
Often considered to be one of the worst movies ever made, Manos The Hands of Fate has gained cult status amongst fans of bad films. Back Lot 605 presents the film in all of it’s B-Movie glory by tearing the film to shreds, all while playing Bad Movie Bingo!
