Geek out and laugh loud. The SiouxperComedy Fest is an annual charity-first comedy showcase where stand-up comedy, and delightfully nerdy bits collide to raise funds for SiouxperCon, a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
In advance of our 2027 festival taking place in Spring 2027, those interested in auditioning LIVE can do so during SiouxperCon 2026 After Dark Festival Teaser. Auditions will be in front of an audience and secret panel of judges on Friday evening of the con.
Two lucky comedians will be selected as openers for our Saturday night headliner, Lucie Pohl (Overwatch, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) and they will also be invited to the 2027 SiouxperComedy Fest for FREE - no entry or submission needed!

Saturday Night
There is no entry fee needed for live auditions at SiouxperCon, taking place September 25-27, 2026, but slots will be limited to the first 20 comedians to register. To register, send an email with the subject line, “Live Audition” to comedy@siouxpercon.com by August 31, 2026.
Disclaimer: Open to stand-up comedians 18 years and older of any experienced level. SiouxperCon will NOT provide meals, lodging, travel, or any other form of compensation for the live auditions. Each performer is responsible for their own expenses to attend the live audition.

SiouxperComedy Fest was founded in 2026, with the first festival taking place during After Dark at SiouxperCon. SiouxperComedy Fest takes place each April in Sioux Falls, SD to raise money for SiouxperCon, a local 501(c)3 organization dedicated to promoting STEM and arts education across the Sioux Empire through their annual fan convention. SiouxperComedy Fest is all about bringing laughs to our community while supporting a great cause!
Comedians of all levels are encouraged to apply for our comedy festival. We’re looking for a wide variety of talent from working professionals to new comics hot on the scene. Submissions are open to all cool comedians over 18; if you're a comedian that's an a-hole, don't apply.
Submitting is simple, fill out the submission form and pay the submission fee.
The SiouxperComedy Fest selection committee determines selections. The committee is made up of members of the SiouxperComedy Fest team, comprised of volunteers from a variety of professional industries - including live entertainment. Every video will be screened, and we look at stage presence, originality, and overall humor.
Please submit a working 3-5-minute video link hosted on YouTube or Vimeo of ORIGINAL material from one consistent set (NO 'BEST OF' CLIPS). Please make sure that your video is public or unlisted. If we can’t access your video, we can’t watch it, and unfortunately, your submission will be disqualified.
The submission entry fee to be considered to perform at SiouxperComedy Fest is $20. That’s right, the entry fees do not go up as the deadline for submissions gets closer.
Entry fees help cover expenses incurred by the festival such as lodging, food, drinks, etc. for the comedians so that proceeds from the festival can be donated to support local charities.
Auditions for the 2027 SiouxperComedy Fest will be live auditions at SiouxperCon 2026 After Dark. The deadline to sign up for a live audition slot is September 20, 2026 at 11:59PM CST.
The top two selections from Friday evening live auditions will be invited back as openers for our Saturday evening headliner. Those top two will also receive free entry to the 2027 SiouxperComedy Fest next April.
SiouxperComedy Fest selects 15-20 comedians for their annual festival, but the chances of participation depend highly on the total number of eligible submissions we receive and the quality of the talent pool.
If selected to perform at SiouxperComedy Fest, comedians will get one or two 10-minute showcase spots depending on the schedules of all the comedians. There may be other opportunities to perform themed shows and mics throughout the weekend.
Not exactly. You will get to give us your preferences and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
We try to get the industry to attend and as much as we’d like to say yes, we can’t make any promises. Most likely there will be some regional industry.
The festival will provide lodging for comedians that live more than 2.5 hours away upon advance request, as blocks permit. Lodging may include Airbnb, staying with locals, hotels, etc. Lodging is NOT provided for those live auditioning at SiouxperCon After Dark.
No, all performers are responsible for their own travel expenses.
Sometimes. We'll do our best to provide some food and drinks at the shows. This all is dependent on our partnerships with our sponsors and venues.
No, however, we do book headliners that are paid. These spots are decided by our producers and are very limited, so please don’t contact us about these spots unless you are an agent with a roster of headliners.
Sorry, all submission fees are nonrefundable. If you don't have the financial resources, please save your money and apply another time.
If there is room, then yes. Ticket holders will always have seating priority.
